WEBINAR ON “STRESS MANAGEMENT”

Students Advisor office Female campus, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a webinar on “Stress Management”. Dr. Nazia Iqbal from Faculty of Social Sciences, FSS, IIUI was the keynote speaker. Dr. Nazia Iqbal is an Assistant Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, FSS, IIUI. Her academic interests include Health Psychology, Gender-related issues, Attachment, Dyadic coping, Educational Psychology, Marital satisfaction, adolescents’ issues, and Mental health. She had published many research articles and book chapters in national and international journals.

 

Addressing during the webinar, Dr. Nazia Iqbal highlighted that stress is an everyday issue while, stress management is a technique to be learned. She talked about general causes, signs and strategies for dealing with the stressful situations. She also discussed the interventions that target interpersonal mechanisms of depression to decrease depressive symptoms and enhance close relationships. She also discussed the counterproductive strategies of stress for daily life.

 

Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Students’ Advisor, Female Campus, IIUI also expressed her views with the audiences of the webinar. A large number of participants including senior faculty members, officials from Students’ Advisor Office and students from various departments of the university attended the webinar and participated during interactive sessions.
