PM LAPTOP SCHEME: RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS MINISTER DISTRIBUTES LAPTOPS AT FEMALE CAMPUS

FedLTeral Minister for Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has said that International Islamic University (IIU) is a unique hub of learning for Muslim world which is disseminating message of peace.

He was addressing at a Laptop distribution ceremony held at female campus of the university. On the occasion, as many as 50 laptops were distributed among female students under Prime Minister Laptop Scheme (PMLTS) phase II, 2016.

Professor Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector IIUI presided the ceremony whereas  Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti, Advisor HEC, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, Vice President Academics IIUI, Mr. Khalid Mehmood Raja, Director General (AF&P), IIUI, Dr. Samina Malik, Director Female campus, Mr. Inam ul Haq, Director Examination IIUI and students attended the ceremony.

lt 2Sardar Yausaf said that present Government is determined to improve education standards at varsities of Pakistan and the laptop scheme is one of its examples. He advised faculty members to furnish proposals through Higher Education Commission (HEC) to excel literacy level in the country.

Dr. Masoom Yasinzai appreciated the scheme for the students and said that IIUI will establish more research laboratories in the campus with new and advance technology. He appreciated support of present Government extended to universities and hoped that it shall continue in future.  Rector IIUI termed the laptop scheme as a gift from the Government to acknowledge student’s efforts of learning. He advised them to concentrate more on education and research with better use of technology. He urged the students to promote positive attitude within the society.

Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti, advisor HEC gave a brief introduction of the scheme and said that laptop scheme and growing technology will soon lead us to establish smart universities in the country.

At the end, Rector IIUI presented university crest to federal Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf. (Jamshid Ullah Khan)
