MADARIS CAN PLAY VITAL ROLE IN PROMOTION OF PEACE, TOLERANCE : DR. MASOOM YASINZAI

Madaris canedicaton play vital role in promotion of peace and tolerance, International Islamic University (IIU) is mulling to provide 100 scholarships to students of religious institutions, said Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIU.

He expressed these views in a seminar on “Role of educational institutions in promotion of tolerance” organized by the Iqbal International Institute for research & dialogue (IRD) here at Faisal Masjid campus.

He urged youth to play role in promotion of tolerance in the society and stressed that students of religious institutions must be brought in the main stream by inducting them into public sector universities. “IIUI is keen to produce harmonious personalities who own adequate knowledge of Islam and the university will welcome the bright students from Madaris.  The workshop was also attended by Mr. Azhar Hussain, President, Mr. Rashad Bukhari, Executive Director Peace & Education Foundation, Dr. Husnul Amin, Executive Director IRD, Dr. Muhammad-Al-Ghazaird 2li, senior Professor & editor “Al-Darasaat” Islamic Research Institute IIUI and other eminent scholars, Intellectuals & students from twin cities.

Mr. Azhar Hussain, President Peace & Education foundation said that unfortunately our society is divided into sects and there is strong negation between one sect and another. He proposed that there should be “Research Centre for Religion Institution Studies” which will pave way to create tolerance in society. Dr. Husnul Amin, Dr. Zaheer-u-din Behram and other renowned scholars also expressed their valuable views on the topic.
