FET STUDENTS BRING FAME TO VARSITY, GRAB TITLES IN VARIOUS COMPETITIONS

In connection with participation of student’s in different competitions held at various engineering educational institutions, several Students’ from Department of Electronics Engineering (DEE), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, IIUI received noteworthy honors and titles in their names during the academic year 2016-17.

In a competition among 60-70 students from various universities of Pakistan, three DEE, IIUI teams secured 1st and 2nd positions for an “Award in Robotics” held at Iqra University Islamabad while, another (DEE) team won “Best Design Award” in Robotics Competition. It was a consecutive fourth annual win of IIUI robotics team.

Team members included, Zahid Mehmood, Syed Nayyer Abbas Naqvi, Hafiz Waqar Sajjad, Hammad ur Rehman and Fawad Khan from BSEE, F-13 batch.

Meanwhile, another Student’s team of DEE, IIUI participated in a competition held during (IEEE-WEEK-2016) at IEEE, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at FAST-NU and remained runners up out of 12 teams from various engineering institutions. Syed Nayyer Abbas Naqvi, Hafiz Waqar Sajjad and Muhammad jawad Zahoor Satti of BSEE/DEE/FET-F-13 were the team members participated in the event.

In Air-Tech 2016 held at Air University Islamabad DEE, IIUI students also secured top positions in various competitions. Rahmatullah Maitlo achieved Best Ambassador, Mushif Nawaz and team achieved Air Programming title while, Hammad Khokhar and Abdul Hafeez teams clinched Air Thon and Air Mat runners up titles respectively.

Similar to such competitions FET DEE Students achieved top two positions in NEO-2017 at (GIKI), Ghulam Ishaq Khan University KPK. As many as four teams from Electrical Engineering Department participated in National Electronics Olympiad (NEO-2017) under the supervision of Engineer Adil Farooq, a Lecturer of the Department.

The competitors participated in the event from over 20 universities all over the country, while the area of the competitions was robotics electronic engineering. Hammad Khokhar, Hafiz Waqar and Nayyer Abbas won Robothon competition while, Zahid Mehmood, Muhammad Kariz and Jahanzaib remained runner up in “Figure 8 Arduino based” competition.

The IIUI leadership has hailed the talented students and felicitated them for their accomplishments.
