Department of Urdu of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) at female campus organized a session with renowned poetess and critic Yasmin Hameed, where she recited her poetry and discussed important topics of literature.
The session was chaired by Dr. Najeeba Arif, Chairperson Department of Urdu, while it was also attended by Dr. Aziz Ibn ul Hassan, Chairman Urdu, male campus, Dr. Munazza Yaqoob, Chairperson English department and other faculty members.
Yasmin Hameed recited her Ghazals and poems while she was hailed by the audience. She also gave answers to the questions of the audience and discussed topics such as comparison of poetry and prose, techniques of both genres and the debate that which one is better than the other.
Earlier, Dr. Najeeba appreciated the services of Yasmeen Hameed in the field of research and her efforts at LUMS for literature through an organization Halqa e Daanish.
Dr. Munnaza lauded works of Dr. Yasmeen in the field of translations and compilations, while Dr. Aziz Ibn ul Hassan added that it was a spell like milieu while listing to her poetry.
