U.S. SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE SPEAKS AT IIUI LINCOLN CORNER

usShaarik H. Zafar, Special Representative to Muslim Communities at the U.S. Department of State spoke to the students of Political Science at the Lincoln Corner of the IIUI on role of Muslim communities in peace across the world and in U.S. particularly.

He said that most of the victims of terrorism are Muslims and Pakistan’s role in war against terrorism is commendable as the country has sacrificed a lot of lives to curb this nuisance.

He also highlighted Pakistan –US shared goals. Answering to a question, Special US Representative said that media plays crucial role in image building of a country and it is of core importance in terms of achievements of any vital goal such as defeating the menace of terrorism.

He termed media as a vital tool to bring truth in front of people and expose the negative propaganda. He also appreciated the contributions of the media personnel in achievement of peaceful world.

The lecture was attended by the university faculty members, Chief Librarian, female students, while students and faculty members of Faculty Fatimah Jinnah Women University and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir participated through video conferencing.
