A meeting of the Steering Committee for journals and publications was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (HS&R), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
The steering committee discussed various aspects such as reviewing and managing of the overall journals and publications. The committee also deliberated for launching of new journals and publications from IIUI banners, the sustainability in quality assurance of already existing IIUI journals and advancement of IIUI publications.
The chair gave directions to devise a policy for publications as well adding that valuable addition of the university publication would be the top priority. He said that data base of university journals will be established in liaison with ORIC and the faculties.
The committee also discussed and studied upcoming journals and the received applications in this regard as per given format by ORIC to interested faculties for launching new journals and it was decided in the meeting that in next meeting presentations will be taken in accordance with new revised policy-2021 of Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad.
The Meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Irfan, Dean FBAS, Prof. Dr. Najeeba Arif, Dean, FLL, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rasheed, Director General, IIIE, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Director General, IRI, Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Director General, Dawah Academy, Dr. Husnul Amin, Executive Director, IRD, IIUI and Mr. Muhammad Sajjad Siddiqui, Additional, Director, ORIC, IIUI and other relevant Officials of ORIC, IIUI.
