SPORTS GALA 19 PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY HELD AT FEMALE CAMPUS

Female students of International Islamic University, Islamabad, who showed outstanding performance and shined in annual sports competitions, Sports Gala, were awarded with the prizes, shields and certificates.

Abida Raja, Member Provincial Assembly graced the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest while it was also attended by IIUI President, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh.

It was also attended by Vice President Female Campus Dr. Farkhanda Zia, Students’ Advisor Female Dr. Nyla Jabeen, Nadia Mukhtar Assistant Sports Officer, faculty members and students who took positions in various sports competitions during sports gala 2019.

Nation associates great hopes to youth, said Abida Raja in her address. She added that discipline and active attitudes are the best attributes to remain successful in the life. She maintained that sports is the best source to maintain the health body . She hailed IIUI for special representation and recognition to females and their rights in a separate female campus .

The Sports Gala had number of sports competitions including table tennis, lawn tennis, cricket, volley ball, tug of war and many other athletics activities.

In his address, Dr. Al-Draiweesh appreciated the efforts of university sports office for untiring contributions. He also lauded the efforts and preparation of players in the sports gala saying that sports and games keep players active and successful in all fields of life.

He said sports play vital and significant role to enhance the capabilities and potential of the players. IIUI President added that a healthy body has a healthy mind. She was of the view that sports teach lesson of tolerance, unity and creates harmony among the students. She assured all the possible support to the students of IIUI to excel their skills and abilities.

The event was also addressed by Vice President Female Campus Dr. Farkhanda Zia who congratulated the winning students. She said that women have a power to change the fate of nation. She asked for collective effort to promote women participation in the society.

 

Dr. Nyla Jabeen emphasized in her welcome address that students should actively participate in co-curricular and sports activities. She appreciated the arrangements made by the administration to make sports gala a success. She also gave detail account of achievements of IIUI students in different competitions held across the Pakistan during the year 2019.
