Sher Nowrooz Khan, Chief Librarian, IIUI won the 3rd prize in National Seerah book competition 2017.
The award was given by President of Pakistan at International Seerah Conference organized by Ministry of Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony Govt, of Pakistan.
The book is a bibliography titled “Hazrat Muhammad (Salla Allah Alyh wa Sallam): Muntakhab Kitabiyyat Urdu Kutub wa Maqalat” which is a reference tool on Seerah in the Urdu language.
There are 6207 entries in this bibliography. The coverage of this work extends to books, monographs, collected works, dissertations, theses, conference proceedings, journal articles, etc. In addition to books and other materials, 128 research journals in the Urdu language have been surveyed. In this bibliography, the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has been divided under 50 main headings covering various dimension of his life.
It is pertinent to mention that Mr. nowrooz, couple of years ago also won 1st prize in English category in same competition.
