SERIES OF SEMINARS: PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF PSYCHOLOGY STRESSED

Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, IIUI organized a seminar addressing “The Role and Career of Psychologist in Armed Forces of Pakistanin Lincoln corner Central library IIUI.

The seminar was attended by BS, M.Sc, MS and PhD students of psychology. The principal speaker was Col. (R) Dr. Abdur Rashid.  The purpose of the seminar was to equip the students with the importance of applied psychology in Armed forces.

Col. (R) Rashid explained that human behavior is a complex phenomenon which we learn from birth to the death. He stressed on the practical application of psychology, as it is everywhere and individual is always surrounded by human behaviors. Moreover, he stated that pragmatic value of the psychology was realized in 19th century, when number of professionals from army took their interest in psychological assessment.

Dr. Mazhar Iqbal Bhatti, Acting Chairman Department of Psychology Male Campus and other faculty members Dr. Asghar Ali Shah,       Mr. Sabir Zaman, Mr. Irshad Ahmad, Mr. Basharat Hussain, Mr. Mujeeb Masud Bhatti, and Mr. Shamsher Hayat Khan also participated in the seminar. Faculty members provided their valuable feedback during the session. Participants took keen interest in the presentation and posed scholarly questions. Dr. Asghar Ali Shah concluded and thanked all the participants and especially Col. (R) Dr. Abdur Rashid for this valuable lecture on the Role and Career of Psychologist in Armed Forces of Pakistan.
