SEMINAR ON ENHANCEMENT OF ACADEMIC AND CREATIVE WRITING SKILLS HELD

Department of Education organized a seminar on “Enhancement of Academic and Creative Writing Skills Among Students” at new campus of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).

The purpose of the seminar was to motivate the students to write for educational magazine titled ‘Educators Pakistan’ which has been launched by the Department of Education for  students  to publish their creative works.

Prof. Dr. Samina Yasmin Malik Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, and Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani joined the seminar and appreciated the efforts of faculty and students for organizing the said seminar. Dr. Muhammad Munir Kayani, Chairman Department of Education chaired the seminar and sensitized the students about the importance of creative and academic writing.

Earlier, Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Education presented a topic titled ‘Discourse Analysis of Creative Skills of Academic Writers’. He added that Social environment is most significant factor to make individuals creative. He furthered that 2reading; thinking and motivation significantly contribute in making students creative.  Mr. Naheed Qaiser (PhD. Scholar) and Mr. Zia-Ur-Rehman (MS Scholar) presented their topics and highlighted the importance of creative writing as well. All presenters shared valuable tips with the audience to improve creative writing skills.  Dr. Azhar Mehmood, Dr. Asad Abas Rizvi and Dr. Shiekh Tariq Mehmood were also present. All faculty members provided important tips to motivate the students to improve their creative writing skills.
