Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) a USAID’s project in Pakistan regarding Pre-Service Teacher Education Programs has awarded (02) Tablets for the top position holders of PRP Scholarship awardees (B.Ed Elementary Education).
The Department of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences is a partner of USAID’s Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) regarding Pre-Service Teacher Education Programs. There have been capacity building programs for the faculty members under this partnership while, Associate Degree in Education and B.Ed Elementary students of the Department had got scholarships also.
Those who got the scholarship awards of B.Ed Elementary students namely Syed Babar Khurshid and Samia Kanwal, by the USAID PRP Project were from Fall-2013 batch. The achievers received the awards by the President, IIUI in a ceremony held at Allama Iqbal Auditorium Faisal Masjid Campus of the university.
The ceremony was attended by the representative of Pakistan Reading Project while, Prof. Dr. Samina, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), Prof. Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani, Director Distance Education, IIUI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khan from Department of Politics & IR and senior faculty members from Faculty of Social Sciences were also present in the ceremony.
The President, IIUI and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences appreciated efforts of Prof. Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani as focal person for USAID collaborations for his continuous efforts. Dr. Draiweesh also appreciated the contribution of Department of Education for imparting quality education.
