Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has said that research must pay to the society.
He opined that research impact must reflect in the society . He was addressing to the meeting participants of 6th Meeting of Board of Advanced Studies (BASR-06) held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 in the Council Hall, Administration Block, IIUI.
During discussion, IIUI President called upon academic fraternity to bring latest happenings into research. He specially referred to prevailing global coronavirus pandemic adding that it has affected all walks of life which means research on its impact shouldn’t only be confined to medical sector.
On this occasion the board members also shared valuable suggestions with President, IIUI and issued relevant recommendations and suggestions. He urged the faculty members to promote culture of research and guide students to conduct the research with a focus on societal needs.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Farkhanda Zia, Vice President, Female Campus, Prof. Dr. Amir, Secretary (BASR), Deans, Heads of departments and other relevant Officials of IIUI. The Board discussed and analyzed synopsis of thesis of MS and PhD students of Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences (FBAS), IIUI.
The Board discussed and analyzed synopses’ of PhD and MS students of faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences FBAS and Faculty of Social Sciences, FSS, IIUI. The Board also issued instructions for students regarding research work. On this occasion President, IIUI, also urged the participants to introduce latest trends of research and explore new avenues for academic excellence.
