ORIC, IIUI HOLDS MEETING OF STANDING COMMITTEE TO REVIEW PROPOSALS FOR GRAND CHALLENGE FUND

A meeting of the Standing Committee under the Chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed Vice President (HS&R), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), to review / shape up / improve and finalize the proposals before submission to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), under the Grand Challenge Fund (GCF) in the year 2021 was held here in the New Campus of the University.

On this occasion, the committee reviewed (06) proposals thoroughly and suggestions from the committee members were obtained to improve weakness in proposals before finalizing them to submit to HEC. The projects targeted the “Big National Problems” with the strategies evolved as part of project pitch with the help of other national institution, industry/local and sectoral collaborators and international partners. Proposal Outlines from IIUI, under this Mega-call from HEC-World-Bank’s Support Program, were received from Centre for Advanced Electronics & Photovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE), Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Department of Psychology, Institute of Islamic Research (IRI), and Iqbal Institute of Research & Dialogue (IRD).

Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Director (ORIC), IIUI shared details of (06) proposals to the committee while, Vice President reviewed and shared valuable aspects for finalizing proposals and highlighted important features with the committee members to further improve the submitted proposals to ORIC, IIUI.

The Meeting was also attended by the committee members including Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, Dean (FET), Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Director (ORIC), Prof. Dr. Abdul Rashid, DG (IIIE), Dr. Asma Gul, Associate Prof. Dept. of Biological Sciences, Dr. Erum Jamil, Chairperson (FET, Female Campus), and Dr. Muhammad Sheeraz Dasti, Assistant Professor (Dept. of English).

Vice President (HS&R) stressed to continue with this exercise as part of the standing committee for all important funding calls in order to come up with competitive projects from IIUI banner likely to be funded after an intense competition.
