LAUNCHING OF WO-MENTORING PROGRAM UNDER LCF PROJECT FUNDED BY HEC

A three-day training workshop took place at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in collaboration with Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi (FJWU) titled “Wo-Mentoring Program: Leadership Skills Development Among Female Leaders”.

This training workshop is the final outcome of the LCF project titled “Shattering the Glass Ceiling: Challenges and Opportunities for Women Academic Leaders in Pakistani Universities” funded by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission won by Prof. Dr. Samina Malik (Rector IIUI) as Principal Investigator.
The LCF project attempts to identify and offset multitude of obstacles faced by women academia via collaborations with public sector universities across Pakistan.

Wo-mentoring program is based on the ”Women Academics Empowerment Policy” developed by the respective project teams from IIUI and FJWU. Key aims of Wo-mentoring program are to offer women academics valuable opportunities for professional growth and development thus promoting the contributions of women leaders and prospective leaders in academia.

This three-day workshop comprises various sessions including number of interactive activities. Participants of this training workshop are from various prestigious universities of Islamabad, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Resource persons included Ms. Momina Dar; Training & Development Consultant and Life and Leadership Coach. Her expertise extends to initiating and implementing significant projects, including HR policy development, surveys & assessments, diversity and gender assessments, and CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management). Mr. Shahid M. Minhas certified Master Trainer by LDM, Institute of International Education (IIE) and Packard Foundation, Master Trainer for Faculty Development by Higher Education Commission. He has a diversified experience in the field of change management, advocacy, behavior change communication and leadership development. Ms. Sumbal Naveed, Founder/CEO, Institute of Learning for a Better Tomorrow (ILFABET), an advocate of education transformation to meet present needs and to support children and youth to unleash their potential and make best use of it.
