INDONESIAN ENVOY CALLS ON DR. MASOOM RECTOR IIUI, JOINES INT’L SEMINAR ORGANIZED BY INDONESIAN STUDENTS 

Dr. Suyudhi Amri, Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan called on Dr. Masoom Yasinzai Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad discussed the matters of mutual educational interest.

Dr. Suyudhi Amri, Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia in Islamabad was the chief Dr. Suyudhi Amri, Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan is exchanging views with Dr. Masoom Yasinzai Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad.guest while Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIUI also graced the international seminar on “The Role of Islamic Boarding School and Madrasa in Establishing Islamic Environment to the Nation” which was organized by Indonesian students in collaboration with Department of Education to celebrate the 90th anniversary of “Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School East Java Indonesia”.

The seminar was also attended by Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Deans, Directors and Indonesian students. Dr. Suyudhi Amri while addressing the students appreciated the active and positive role of IIUI in providing quality of modern education to multi-lingual and multi-cultural students from different corners of the world.

He said that Islamic boarding schools and Madrassahs as part of national education in Indonesia and they are playing significant role in the development of mass literacy with their limited resources. Indonesian Envoy apprised that Madrassahs are contributing in main stream of Indonesia with great responsibilities as the country’s national slogan is “unity in diversity”.

He further said that difference of opinion must be limited to scholarly debate only; this should not leave up-to the masses at any cost, which triggers the enmity and sectarianism. Rector IIU added that Madrassahs have to play their role in character building, Dawah and to guide Muslims in dealings their routine matters.

Dr. Masoom also appreciated the administrative and academic structure of Madrassah in Indonesia and admired the services which they are providing. Dr. Jumani, Dr. Haroon-ur-Rashid, Dy. Dean, Faculty of Usuluddin, Dr. Muhammad Munir Kayani also addressed the participants, while Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Education and Mr. Firman Arifandi presented their research papers.
