IIUI LECTURER COMPLETES HIS PHD, BUILDS LONG LIST OF RESEARCH PUBLICATIONS

Mr. Shehzad Ashraf Chaudhry, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, International Islamic University, Islamabad has successfully defended his dissertation titled “Design and Analysis of Secure Lightweight Authentication and Signcryption Schemes”. He completed his thesis under the guidance of Dr. Syed Husnain Abbas Naqvi and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sher.Shehzad Pic

In the thesis Mr Shehzad developed some secure cryptographic protocols majoring in five sub areas: Two party two-factor authentication schemes, Two party three-factor authentication schemes, A mobile handover authentication scheme, Multi server authentication schemes and Asigncryption scheme.

Mr. Shehzad also developed an electronic payment system based on his proposed signcryption to facilitate the customer, bank and the merchant for secure online transactions. His thesis was internationally evaluated by Prof. Dr. Debiao He, Wuhan University and Prof. Dr. Chen Gongliang, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Whereas, The local examiners of the thesis were Prof. Dr. Aamer Saleem Chaudhry, Hamdard University, Islamabad and Prof. Dr. Sikandar Hayat Khiyal Preston University, Islamabad. During his PhD, he has authored more than 35 scientific publications published in different international journals and proceedings including 21 publications in top rated/top cited impact factor journals with an overall impact factor greater than 24.

He has also presented some of his papers in top rated conferences held in different countries including United Kingdom, France, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand etc. His research areas are include Lightweight Cryptography,Elliptic/Hyper Elliptic Curve Cryptography, Multimedia Security, E- Payment systems, MANETs,SIP authentication, IP Multimedia sub-system and Next Generation Networks.
