IIUI TO HAVE EXAMINATION RESEARCH PORTAL SOON

International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) will soon launch an Examination Research Portal which has been prepared by Examinations Research Section with the help of varsity’s ORIC. A special committee has agreed that the portal’s test would be commenced at a department of Faculty of Engineering and Technology on trial basis.

A meeting in this regard was held at new campus under the chairmanship Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Acting President IIU. It was attended by Director Exams, Inam ul HAQ, Nosheen Syed ( Dy Director A &E), Madiha Akram Dy Director Examinations , Deputy Director IT Mr. Junaid Azhar and Deputy Director Networks Mr. Shahid Mehmood.

Prof. Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik appreciated the initiative of Examination Research Section and opined that technological advancement is mandatory for ensuring speedy resolution of academic matters. He further added that Research Section initiative would help the university in fostering academic excellence specially terms of having software to gauge research student performance without spending a penny.

On the occasion, Director Examinations, Inam Ul Haq briefed the house that Examinations Research Section and faculties should know the detail of all MS &Ph.D Students with INACTIVE & ACTIVE Status.  He added it has been a long standing requirement towards Quality Enhancement the same has already been reiterated by HEC MS/Ph.D reviews teams during their visits and endorsed by BASR IIU.  He also added that Examination section  always find ways to bring improvement with scarce resources  in existing system and procedures specially  in terms of  adopting hi-tech support and backing.

Incharge Examinations Research Section Mr. Ali Rafey apprised that the proposed /customized version of ORIC software/Portal will also ensure to have paperless procedures and environment for MS/Ph.D students. He elaborated different aspects of the software.

Ms Nosheen Syed Dy Director (A & E) was of the view that approved list of foreign evaluators should be uploaded so that system is enabled to select the two experts from its reservoirs/ basin automatically.  The suggestion was appreciated and agreed upon.

Prof. Dr Amir gave very useful &technical input and stressed over the need to involve departments and supervisors along with research section to commute research students’ details in the proposed software for enabling to track students’    academic performance aimed at streamlining and simplifying different procedures.
