IIUI STUEDENTS PARTICIPATE IN KAMYAB JAWAN SPORTS DIRIVE-2021

International Islamic University Islamabad students participated in the “Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive-2021”.

Sports Drive was part of the new four projects worth Rs.4 billion initiated by the present government in coordination with the Kamyab Jawan Programme and the Higher Education Commission to keep the country’s youth engaged in sports and extracurricular activities. Different universities from all over Pakistan participated in this mega event.

Around 46 students participated from Female campus in volleyball, tennis, squash, handball and athletics and performed tremendously well. IIUI team players accompanied by Ms. Sumayya Chughtai, Students Advisor Female, Assistant Director Sports, Ms. Nadia Mukhtar,Miss Ayesha Rashid and Miss Sana Gul who led the IIU fleet with great zeal; zest and enthusiasm in Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive-2021.

Female tennis team consisted of 5 players gave a pretty tough competition and defeated the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences – UVAS Lahore team in the first qualifying round.

Whereas IIUI female handball team consisted of 12 players competed marvelous well and won the match from Iqra University, Karachi.

IIUI female volleyball team consisted of 12 players gave an incredible performance and won the match from Sukkar IBA university.

Students Advisor (Male) Dr. Touqeer Sargana and Assistant Director Students Affairs, Jamshidullah Khan, led IIUI male students in the mega even, 17 male students took part in Athletics and boxing contests.

On the occasion, Students’ Advisor female campus, Ms Sumayya Chughtai and Students Advisor male campus, Dr. Tauqeer Sargana, congratulated IIU students to participate in the Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive initiated by the government for youth and said that sports are one of the wonderful ways to instill the qualities of determination, discipline and sincerity among the young minds.
