IIUI RECTOR URGES VARSITIES TO HAVE RELEVANCY TO SOCIETAL DEMANDS

It is a dire need of hour that universities should have relevancy to societal demands of progress, said Dr. Masoom Yasinzai Wednesday.

In his meeting with Holly Murten, Regional Public Engagement Specialist of the US embassy at his office at varsity,  Dr Masoom said that universities must promote peace and youth be utilized to bring positive changes in the society.

In the meeting, both the IIUI Rector and the US diplomat agreed that Lincoln corner established at IIUI is a bridge between the varsity students and US students. They agreed that It is also a constructive platform to achieve mutual shared goals such as equality in the society, empowering women and research.

Dr. Masoom said on the occasion that university was keen to expand its ties across the globe to exchange the experiences, he continued that IIUI provides a peaceful milieu to a diverse cultural population at campus.

Holly Murten endorsed that IIUI and US embassy though Lincoln corner should come up with more programs for youth . She said that recent conference with the help of both sides was a successful muster of researchers and experts who shared their prudent thoughts on critical thinking and role of humanities in the society.
