IIUI RECTOR CALLS FOR PROMOTION OF INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH

Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has called upon the researchers and academicians to promote interdisciplinary research. He stressed that linkages between industry and academia is a pre-requisite to have constructive results.

He was addressing at the 5th conference on biological and computational sciences organized by the Capital University of Science and Technology.

In his speech in the opening ceremony as chief guest, Dr. Masoom said that bioinformatics has reached the finest stage and through computational biology the scientists are doing wonders in specified manners because the computer based programs can identify and specify the molecules for the intended result. He urged the students that they should emphasize on the amalgamation of Pharma industry and biotechnology. The IIUI Rector said that the university has launched a center for inter disciplinary research where researchers are conducting research across the disciplines and exchanging their experience. The IIUI Rector also discussed diagnosis of diseases, issues of genetic mutation and industry of medicine. He also shared his experiences of research with the participants.
