DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY HOLDS ORIENTATION SESSION ON “COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH”

Department of Psychology, International Islamic University Islamabad in collaboration with Aid to Leprosy Patients (Rawalpindi Leprosy Hospital) organized an orientation session on “Community Mental Health” at Basic Health Unit (BHU) Sui Chemian Tehsil Gujar Khan District Rawalpindi.

Dr. Kehkashan Arouj, Acting Chairperson Department of Psychology (Female) was the facilitator of the session. The orientation session was attended by the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) staff, Lady Health workers, Basic Health Unit and the Local community.

In her talk, Dr. Kehkashan highlighted the importance of mental health and common psychological problems prevailing in the community. She further emphasized on the role of the health care profession to create awareness regarding the mental health in the local community.

Participants have actively participated in the question answer session. At the end of the session, Dr. Tariq Pervez Janjua, Program Officer CBR-Project has thanked the resource person for sparing his precious time and sharing her thought. He further thanked Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily, Chairman Department of Psychology/ Director Academics IIUI and said his special considerations made this event successful.
