2454762a-e698-4edd-9faf-6eb24b3a6fc6Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr. Masoom Yasinzai Tuesday has called for bridging the gap between traditional and formal education system.

He made these remarks addressing to a 40-member delegation of students hailing from districts of Balushistan which called on him at new campus of the university. The delegation was led by Baluchistan Rural support Program (BRSP) officials who told that the exposure visit was part of Youth Empowerment Program which is focused on youth development through different platforms and activities.

“IIUI is mulling over a model project under which top 100 bright students selected from Wafaq ul Madaris would be inducted at university’s Islamic studies faculty where they will be given education of English, Arabic and Islamic studies till MS degree, while they will be sent back to their respective institutions to teach characteristics which university would inculcate in their personalities” said Dr. Rector IIUI hoping that project would be initiated soon.

He said that youth must be nurtured in a manner that they develop an element of mutual respect so they may be able to discourage rigidity and violence on difference of opinion. He told that IIUI is providing a sectarian free milieu to the students of more than 40 countries including more than 2 thousand foreigner students who are acquiring quality education integrated with teachings of Islam.

“Islam is a religion of ethics and tranquility, such attributes are missing in the contemporary education which is mostly subject oriented and such attributes be inculcated in the young mind by mingling the Islam and contemporary education, same is being done at IIUI” Dr. Masoom maintained.

The delegation participants took keen interest in the university who were told by the Rector IIUI that university has initiated a 50 seats package for the students of Baluchistan from previous semester, while he also vowed maximum cooperation to all the provinces in this regard.
