IIUI PRESIDENT CHAIRS MEETING TO ESTABLISH SCEINCE, TECHNOLOGY & BUSINESS PARK

A meeting under the chairmanship of the Worthy President International Islamic university Islamabad (IIUI) was held in the boardroom at the new campus to establish a Science, Technology and Business Park (STBP) – Pilot at Al-Farabi Research Complex.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, (VP (R&E)), Prof. Dr. Abdul Rehman (Dean FMS), Dr. Muhammad Arif, (Incharge Marketing and Branding), Dr. Ali Metab Alahmari (Director President Office),  Dr. Sadia Saleem (Assistant Professor FOC)(online) Ms. Nuzhat Zareen (Director UAFA), Engr. Muhammad Ahsen Mirza (Director BIC) and Engr. Usama Bin Mansoor, (Assistant Director BIC).
The agenda of the meeting was to establish a Science, Technology and Business Park (STBP) – Pilot at Al-Farabi Research Complex and explore the long term benefits which will result in amplifying the IIUI Brand many folds. After an in-depth presentation by Engr. Muhammad Ahsen Mirza (Director BIC) the worthy president opened the floor for a discussion and all members unanimously endorsed the contents of the presentation.
The worthy President lauded and appreciated the motivation and optimism of the R&E team and their vision of taking IIUI to the next level of success not only as a leading educational institution but also as a platform for a paradigm shift from traditional approaches to more innovative mindsets such as nurture entrepreneurship, research, innovation and commercialisation.
The worthy President also added that the Science, Technology and Business Park (STBP) will develop a coherent and professional environment not only at the university level but also at local, national and international levels. A great emphasis was given to the commitment and professional efforts of IIU-BIC team under the supervision of the VP (R&E) to instill an optimistic mindset and entrepreneurial culture at IIUI. Furthermore, it was realized that the IIUI STBP will boost the much required academia-industry linkages.
The Director BIC highlighted that the business model of the IIUI STBP will be based on Islamic Business Ethics and Practices.
The worthy President assured of his full support for the STBP pilot project which is a gateway for the upcoming mega project of IIUI Commercial Complex in the near future.
