IIUI, KAZAKHSTAN AGREE ON MUTUAL COOPERATION

559fee24-ac2c-4c64-aad5-9e0c17f4c5b2The Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Pakistan, H.E. Bakhitbek Shabarbayev called on President International Islamic University, Islamabad Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh at his office in which enhancement of mutual cooperation was agreed.

 During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed to  the President IIUI on behalf of his government to nominate his representation for the 15th Session of the Secretariat of the Congress and International Conference on general issue Religions against Terrorism” to be held on May 31, 2016 upon which President IIUI nominated Professor Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General IRI for this purpose.

 The Ambassador of Kazakhstan lauded the efforts of IIUI for main stream Islamic teachings to all over the world. He expressed his appreciation of IIUI for its role in the teaching of various subjects, particularly, Islamic Sciences. He suggested that there should be more collaboration between IIUI and universities of Kazakhstan, so that his country’s institutions would be able to send Kazakhstani students to IIUI for the study of Islamic teachings. He also invited the President IIUI to visit Kazakhstan for a meeting with the Education Minister of Kazakhstan in terms of mutual collaboration. He lauded the services of Dr. Al-Draiweesh for Muslim Ummah.

The President IIU briefed the ambassador about the recent conference that was organized by the university on the “Role of Religious Leaders in combating terrorism”. He also informed the ambassador about the activities of IIUI for dissemination of Islam’s message of peace. He added that almost all Muslim countries being represented at IIUI by the students of various Muslim countries. He said that conference in Astana is being conducted on an important topic. President IIUI said Islam is religion of peace and its true message should be disseminated throughout the world and universities can play vital role for accomplishing this goal.

Meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director, IRI, Dr. Aziz-ur-Rehman, Legal Advisor to the President IIU and Head, Chancellery, Embassy of Kazakhstan were also present in the meeting.
