IIUI, Islamic Relief Pakistan join hands for cooperation

International Islamic University (IIU) joined hands with Islamic Relief Pakistan by signing a Letter of Interest to establish a referral mechanism to facilitate ( in dire need).

Ms. Nuzhat Zareen Director (UAFA) signed Letter of interest (LOI) with Mr. Said Usman, Area Program Manger Islamic Relief Pakistan IIU Islamabad. Miss Mehnaz Kousar Protection & Inclusion / Social Cohesion Officer, Islamic Relief, Syed Naveed Ehtisham Director (Academics), Noor Hussain Director(Finance), and UAFA officials were present in the ceremony.

As per letter of interest, both sides agree to boost bilateral cooperation.

On the occasion, Mr. Usman said Islamic Relief Pakistan is implementing WASYLA (Women Aligned for Sustainable Youth-Centered Livelihood Action) in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Quetta.

He said in order to develop synergies with government & semi-Govt. Institutions, Islamic Relief intends to pursue and support community groups in their humanitarian endeavors while joining hands with International Islamic University to facilitate vulnerable group of community to overcome poverty through education.

Area Manager Mr. Said Usman Islamic Relief added that Islamic Relief is working on different projects pertaining to Poverty reduction, Technical Skills Enhancement, People with disabilities, water and sanitation, food security and livelihoods, climate change, health, support for orphans, women’s empowerment, as well as emergency response and disaster risk reduction.

On the occasion Ms. Nuzhat Zareen said that LOI will pave the way for more joint ventures and joint collaborations for the promotion of education. She said that the university is keen to address the needs of society by preparing skilled graduates who can contribute in the best manner in the progress of the society and country.
