onal Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) cricket team has won Islamabad zone of All Pakistan inter-university cricket tournament.
Team IIUI advanced to final round of All Pakistan inter-university cricket tournament by clinching the title of Islamabad zone which was categorized as Zone-c by HEC.
IIUI cricket team outclassed Air University by 56 runs in zone final after setting a target of 212 runs. As many as 21 universities’ teams took part in the tournament and now zone winner and the runner-up will play in Karachi in the final round of All Pakistan inter-varsity tournament.
“We are all set to clinch the title in final round, boys have high morale as they have defeated tough teams such as Qaid e Azam university and Air University” said Haroon ur Rasheed, the IIUI cricket team Captain.
IIUI leadership has lauded the performance of team and hoped that it would grab the final title as well. Dr. Arshad Zia, Students Advisor and Roh Ul Ameen, Incharge of IIUI team also felicitated the team and said that team is well-prepared for the final round.
