The participants of Professional Development Program for University Teachers (PDPUT) of series of 9 workshops were awarded certificates in concluding ceremony organized by Department of Education, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector IIUI was the chief guest of concluding ceremony, while Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Samina Malik, Director Female Campus, faculty members and organizers also attended the ceremony.
Dr. Masoom congratulated the organizers of the workshops and all the participants for the successful completion of the workshops.
He stressed the need to continue of such activities for enhancement of teaching techniques and skill development of faculty members. Rector IIUI assured all sort of financial and administrative support in this regard. He also urged to initiate diploma programs for the training of teachers.
Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani commended the efforts of the Department of Education on organizing workshops for professional development of the teachers. Dr. Husul Amin Executive Director, Iqbal Institute of Research and Dialogue (IRD) also appreciated the initiatives and vowed to organize joint workshops on “Assessment and Evaluation”.
Dr. Samina Malik, Chairperson Department of Education and presented the report on the workshops conducted on various modules pertaining to Teaching as a Profession, Academic Planning and Management, Curriculum Development, Assessment and Evaluation, Learners’ Psychology, Andragogical Skills, Communication Skills, Research Methods and Skills, Microteaching and highlighted the main achievements of this program.
The participants of the ceremony appreciated the efforts of organizing team and said that the workshops changed their perspectives and developed their skills and dispositions, which are a way forward to quality education.
The 93 teachers from all faculties of the university got benefits from this series of workshop by a team of well-qualified and experienced trainers, drawn from leading institutions, contributed to this program. In the end, the Rector IIU along with Dean FSS and Chairperson Department of Education presented shields and distributed the certificates to the organizers, resource persons and the workshop participants.
