DEPARTMENT OF BIOINFORMATICS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY ORGANIZES AGRI-INNOVATIVE EXPO, SEMINAR

Department of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology (BI&BT) organized an Agri-Innovative Expo and seminar on Agriculture innovations.

They speakers opined that Agriculture biotechnology is necessary to achieve the pace to meet the requirements of modern era and seminars and joint ventures on Agriculture Biotechnology will be helpful to have best results.

Experts and professional t the event, discussed various vital topics such as Virus free Plants, Uses of Biofertilizers, Production and Use of GMOs, Agriculture basis of pharmaceutical industry, Hydroponics Technology and Agronomy smarter solution for complex problems.

Professor Dr. Ahmad Yousif Ahmad Al Draiweesh, President, International Islamic University was the chief guest of the event who visited the stalls and hailed the efforts of students. He said that the activity will provide an impetus to the students to open their own ways for research and earning. Agriculture institute NARC demonstrated the ongoing research work being carried out in different field of Agriculture Biotechnology.

The activity brought academicians, researchers and representatives from different institutes and companies attended it.  Students of Biotechnology department set-up different stalls in collaboration with different Agriculture institutes including National Agriculture Research Center Islamabad (NARC).

stalls were displayed during this expo by  Hydroponics Technology, Tissue culture: A Sustainable Approach to accumulate Essential and Conventional Oils, Aloe Vera, A miracle Plant, Virus free Plants, Biofertilizers and Herbal Cosmetics, Agriculture basis of pharmaceutical industry, Food Industry/GMO’s etc.

The event stalls were judged by Prof. Dr. Malik Mujaddadur Rahman form Abbot University of Science and Technology and Dr. Bushra Jamil from NUMS University . They encouraged students to organize such events which further enhance their skills.

Dr. Farkhanda Zia, Director Female campus and Dr. Asma Gul, Chairperson, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology department took keen interest in different stalls and cherished the struggle of students in organizing this event. Both male and female faculty members from Biotechnology department actively participated in the event. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Asma Gul, thanked honorable guests speakers, judges and organizers of this expo especially PTCL General Manager Mr. Yasir Manzoor for their sponsorship for the event.
