CONFERENCE TITLED “INNOVATEU-2024” EMPOWERING TOMORROW: NAVIGATING THE INTERSECTION OF EMERGING IT TECHNOLOGIES HELD AT IIUI

A conference titled “INNOVATEU-2024” Empowering Tomorrow: Navigating the Intersection of Emerging IT Technologies, organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs (DSA), Female Campus and Faculty of Computing and IT of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) with collaboration of Office of Research Integration and Commercialization (ORIC), IIUI was held here at the Quaid-e-Azam Auditorium, Faisal Masjid Campus of the university.

The objectives and aims of this conference as part of the “INNOVATEU-2024” was to equip students with the skills and vision needed to excel in today’s society, further providing opportunity engaging male and female students in discussions, panels on entrepreneurship, career paths and deep dive into critical market skills.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research & Enterprise), IIUI addressing the conference said that the conference apprising the initiative by the faculty of computing with the collaborative efforts of ORIC, IIUI aimed to provide students latest technological aspects of innovation in the field of information technology in present era. Dr. Shuja said that such conferences are vital for youth to cater to academic excellence. He added that the conference is tailored for the next generation of IT leaders offering insights into the cutting edge technologies like AI, machine learning, block chain and cybersecurity. He also emphasized to get ready for the future challenges equipping latest tools in this field of information technology.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asmat Ullah Khan, Dean Faculty of Computing and IT terming the conference a transformative event for students, shared its significant features and said that this conference is an opportunity for the youth as they will witness expert’s opinion interacting with them through a dialogue paving the way for a brighter tech-driver tomorrow.

Dr. Sadia Saleem Cheema, Students Advisor also highlighted the significant role of information technology in the present era for youth and briefed the objectives of the conference and said that Conference was a key to unlocking a promising career in IT for students as it provided a vibrant and immersive learning experience where students can engage with industry experts and gain the skills and confidence necessary to thrive in the fast-paced realm of emerging technologies.

Speakers of the conference included Mr. Barken Saeed, Dr. Naveed Baqir, Mr. Ali Zain, Dr. Kashif Kifayat, Dr. Kamran Malik, Ayman Saroch, Dr. Sadia Saleem, Mr. Shakeel Muhammad, Syed Jawad Hussain, Asmim Ajmal, Narmeen Chauhan, Usman Ghani and Talah Munir Khan. Significant topics covered by the distinguished speakers included Critical Skills required to be competitive in the market, Pharmaco Cybernetics: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning Trends in Multidisciplinary Fields, Blockchain Technology and its Applications, Cybersecurity in the Modern Technological Landscape, Entrepreneurship: Panel Discussion, Career Paths Exploration: Panel Discussion and Job Market Readiness.

The conference was attended by senior male and female faculty members of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology and a large number of male and female students of the university.
