CONFERENCE ON HALAL FOOD CONCLUDES

participants of the an international conference on “Halal Food: Principles, Shariah standards and contemporary issues called upon the Muslim states to establish reliable standards for Halal products of food and medicine taking advantage of the decisions of the juristic bodies and the institutions of collective ijtihad.

The two days international conference was organized by Faculty of Shariah and Law of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) University which was graced by Imam e Kaba Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Hemeid who attended both inaugural and closing ceremonies.

The closing ceremony was also joined by University Rector IIUI Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, university Vice Presidents, Dean FSL, DGs, Directors, faculty members and a large number of students of the faculty.

The participants, in recommendations agreed that media should be utilized for raising awareness among the masses regarding benefits of the halal food and the harmful effects of the haraam food. They maintained that those Muslim states should provide food security by supporting and encouraging Halal products. The Participants recommended checking the source of canned meat and food, raising the standards of supervision for them, both from the legal and medical perspective, and activating the role of the regulatory bodies and authorities.

In the conference, Prof. Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Hemeid, Imam e Kaaba  called upon Muslims societies to devise a comprehensive strategy for availability of Halal food and urged that unnecessary decrees in this regard shouldn’t be released as it’s a matter that pertains to authentic forums.
