Prof. Dr. Saeed Badshah and Dr. Shamaila Sajjad, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences respectively, have completed the Advanced UK training for the PhD Supervisor Capacity Building Program.
This training was held at Coventry University in collaboration with the British Council, NAHE, and HEC Pakistan. The training program closing session was also attended by Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayum Executive Director HEC and Prof. Dr. Ian Dunn from Coventry University. The nomination process for this training was facilitated by ORIC, and ORIC played a significant role in supporting them throughout. After an initial 5-day workshop in Islamabad followed by a “Master Trainers Capacity Building” phase, they were selected along with 18 faculty members for advanced training in the UK. Now designated as Master Trainers, their role is pivotal in enhancing the capacity of PhD supervisors in Pakistan.
