Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace, Fauzia Viqar called on H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
During the meeting issues of mutual interest were discussed. Both the President and the ombudsperson discussed the role of educational institutions in promoting the rights of women and discouraging harassment.
Federal Ombudsperson lauded IIUI for appointing the first female Rector in its history adding that this was a positive gesture and an omen of the positive role of educational institutions in providing equal platform to women to excel in society. The IIUI President apprised her of the contributions of the women of IIUI in the progress of university and the society. They also agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation for the awareness against harassment of women and protection of their rights. H.E. Dr. Hathal also highlighted the role of IIUI in serving the society through collaborations, research and practical approach based programs.
