IIUI & IHSAN TRUST SIGN MOU

International Islamic University (IIU) joined hands with Ihsan Trust (IT) by signing an MoU to extend interest free loan facility to IIU students.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is aimed at bosting relationship of cooperation between Ihsan Trust and IIUI for the purpose of mutually strengthening each other ‘s capacity in playing their role in providing education to those communities /individuals who have been admitted to IIUI and not in a position to afford all the fees and other charges of IIUI.

Mr. Fayyaz ur Rehman Khan General Manager Ihsan Trust from Karachi visited IIU Islamabad. Prof. Dr Ahmed Shuja, Vice President Research and Enterprise signed MOU with GM Ihsan Trust on behalf of IIUI. Dr. Zafar Iqbal Dean Social Sciences, Dr. Saba Hameed from Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Mr. Inam ul Haq Director (Administration), Ms. Nuzhat Zareen (Director (UAFA) with her staff, Mr, Ateeq Chughtai Additional Director (HR) were present at the MOU signing Ceremony.

GM Ihsan Trust added that for providing this Interest Free Loan facility to the students of IIUI, special and specific agreement will be made with each selected student by Ihsan Trust. The initial selection will be done by the IIUI through University Advancement & Financial Aid Office (UAFA) and IT will conduct the final interview and appraisal before entering into agreement with the student for providing this Interest Free Loan facility
Ihsan Trust will provide the Interest Free Loan facility to any number of students of the IIUI who could be accommodated in the total limit per year of the Interest Free Loan facility to IIUI students, on purely “Need-cum-Merit” basis. Ihsan Trust will provide upto 50% (which may be increased up to 75% depending upon the need of the student) of the Tuition and other fee of IIUI as Interest Free Loan facility to the selected students. Interest Free Loan facility will be provided for one (first) attempt only to each student for any subject in any semester/year, to ensure that the student pass each subject in each semester.

On the occasion Prof Dr. Ahmed Shuja said that MoU will pave the way for more joint ventures and joint collaborations for the promotion of education. He said that the university is keen to address the needs of society by preparing skilled graduates who can contribute in the best manner in the progress of the society and country. He also apprised that the university has a transparent mechanism of scholarship programs for the support of needy students under which they are being accommodated on merit and this step has been appreciated by the students and parents.
