CONFERENCE ON REVIVING ARABIC LANGUAGE CONCLUDES AT IIUI

Speakers of the International conference on “Role of Institutions and Individuals in the reviving the Arabic Language”, recommended that a comprehensive strategy for the promotion of the Arabic language is imperative and it should be made compulsory to include Arabic language from gross root to higher levels.

The conference witnessed dozens of research papers and lectures of the worldly known scholars who shared thoughts on the importance of Arabic, its application in society, its future and possibilities of promotion. Scholars from Al-Azhar university, Jamiat ur Rasheed, Dar uloom Karachi, faculty members of various national university and Arab teachers of IIUI expressed views on the topic of the conference that was devided into various sessions.

The participants opined that Arabic is pathway to Islamic knowledge and it helps in bridging the gaps between the Muslim countries.

The conculding ceremony was addressed by the Dean Faculty of Arabic Dr. Fazl ullah who apprised of the objective of conference and thanked the university management and organizing committee for the exquisite cooperation and arrangements of conference. The recommendations of the conference were presented by Dr. Riffat Syed, while Dr. Susan Al Hudhud, Abdur Rehman Bashir and Abdur Rehman Yousafzai also spoke on the occasion.

The two day long conference was also attended by Minister for Education Syed Madad Ali Sindhi, Ambassadors and diplomats of the various countries. In the online sessions world known scholars shared the thoughts. The conference was organized on the occasion of the world arabic Day by the Faculty of Arabic to pay tribute and homage to this expressive, rich and important language.

In his address to the conference, Education Minister Syed Madad Ali Sindhi said that the Arabic language is a great asset of Muslims. He said that institutions like the International Islamic University should be promoted in the society and the other universities should also adopt the IIUI’s style of education.

Speaking at the conference, H.E. Muhammad Mutahar Al-Ashbi, the Ambassador of Republic of Yemen said that Arabic is the language of the Qur’an, steps should be taken to promote Arabic.

Earlier in the opening ceremony,expressing his views, Acting President of IIUI Dr. Abdul Raheman said that the role of Arabic language is important in economic and academic development.
