The Faculty of Arabic of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized a one day seminar titled: “The Linguistic Analysis of Quranic and Prophetic Texts (التحليل اللغوي للنصوص القرآنية والنبوية)” at the Female Campus. The seminar was attended by a significant number of teachers and students from Islamabad Model College (IMCG, I-8/3).
On this occasion, Dr. Samia Nazish, Incharge Faculty of Arabic, provided an overview of the Faculty’s achievements by extending welcome to the guests. Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Incharge Female Campus, and Dr. Sadia Saleem, Students Advisor, Female Campus, also participated in the event.
Addressing the participants of the seminar, Dr. Sumayya Chughtai lauded organizing faculty for arranging the program and expressed a desire for conducting more sessions across various faculties.
In her speech, Dr. Sadia Saleem commended the Faculty’s role and efforts, suggesting the organization of scientific seminars, particularly during the summer.
The first session of the seminar was conducted by Dr. Sawsan Alhudhud, Professor of Al-Azhar University of Cairo, she delved into the phonetic and semantic aspects in Quranic and Prophetic texts, emphasizing the impact of phonetic mistakes on word meanings, deemed unacceptable in Islam.
The second session was led by Dr. Fouzia Mirtaj who focused on morphological and syntactical miracles, illustrating how errors in the recitation of harakat could alter the meanings of Quranic words.
At the end of seminar, Dr. Samia Nazish thanked Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Dr. Sadia Saleem, Dr. Raheela Kausar, Professor Samina Ashraf including guests and participants from the Arabic Faculty for their participation. She expressed the commitment to continue such seminars in the future. Additionally, students from IMCG explored the entire female campus and the IIUI Library, acquainting themselves with university life.
