The Department of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology organized Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on at Female Campus of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). The main aim of this campaign was to create awareness amongst youth about this deadly disease, its early diagnosis, timely treatment and cure.
Students disseminated the relevant literature through flyers, play cards, banners and mutual group talks. Regarding understanding of diseases among women in Pakistan, the participants and discussants urged that routine checkup, diagnosis, symptoms and treatment of the disease along with the modern technology were necessary.
Dr. Asma Gul, Chairperson Department of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology appreciated the efforts of faculty members and students for organizing awareness campaign for Female students of the University. The awareness campaign was supervised by Dr. Shaheen Shahzad, Assistant Professor and Dr. Zareen Fatima, Assistant Professor from Department of Bioinformatics & Biotechnology while, a large number of faculty members and students participated in Campaign.
