IIUI CONFERENCE URGES TO CORRELATE THEORY & PRACTICE IN JUDICIAL SYSTEMS

The Conference on Judicial systems in Muslim countries concluded here at Faisal Masjid campus of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) with recommendations that meetings of the judicial academies of the Muslim countries be called on a forum to share experiences and such activities be supervised by Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC).

Participants said that it is responsibility of the academia to correlate the theory and practice in judicial systems and fill gaps. In addition, a standard judicial code should be prepared that could be practiced as a model code in Muslim countries for administration of justice.

The conference titled “Judicial systems in Muslim countries: Theory & Practice” was organized by Shariah Academy of the IIUI at Faisal Masjid campus where experts, diplomats, judges researchers hailing from UAE, Turkey, Syria, Sudan and Egypt expressed views in session through lectures, papers and addresses.

“Muslim countries should focus on e-judiciary and automation of the system and recommendations of the conference must be disseminated to embassies of the Muslim countries and judicial academies for forming a functional network” said Dr. Al-Draiweesh, President IIUI in the concluding ceremony of the conference. While it was also attended by, Chief Justice Federal Shariat court, Dr. Abdul Karim,  Justice Fida Muhammad Khan, Dr. Muhammad Munir Vice President AF&P.

Earlier, Dr. Muhammad Munir presented conference recommendations, detailed objectives and thanked the participants and guest. Later, certificates were distributed among the participants of conference.
