Former Prime Minister State of Kashmir Sardar Atiq Ahmed has said peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue is essential for peaceful co-existenceof the world, especially for peace, security and stability of South Asia. “if the partition of sub-continent populated with a billion was possible through dialogue and negotiations, the peaceful solution of Kashmir issue is also possible”. All the major forums of the World support the strong stance of Kashmiries, only India’s intransigence is the obstacle in resolving the issue.
These views were expressed by Sardar Atiq ahmed while interaction with Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President IIUI on Thursday during a meeting. On the occasion, they discussed in detail the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir and matters of mutual interest pertaining to high education.
He also shared the state of educational projects and overall development in Azad Kashmir. Sardar Atiq Ahmed strongly condemned the banning on medical aid, the closure of educational institutions in occupied Kashmir and termed four month long unlawful curfew by India inhumane and brutal act.
Former PM Azad Kashmir appreciated the role universities to raise the awareness of the issue of Kashmir and kept it alive. He also referred to the efforts of promoting education in Kashmir and said that awareness and identification of problems are the key part of the solutions.
Dr. Masoom Yasinzai said the role of education institutions has vital importance to highlight Kashmir issue across the world as universities provide and train dedication and insightful future 
leadership those who contributed to the development of solutions.Rector IIUI said university has large strength of students from Kashmir and they are being facilitated on priority basis at the campus.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh said the world acknowledges the freedom movement in Indian occupied Kashmir and highly support the stance of Kashmiries. He further added that Arab World especially Saudi Arabia stands with Kashmiries in struggle of independence and extend all possible cooperation with them.
He hoped that all the Muslim countries would utilize resources for solution of Kashmir. Dr. Al-Draiweesh stressed the need publish literature in different languages to disseminate and educate new-generation about Kashmir issue. In view of the current situation, President IIUI vowed to hold a national conference to highlight the inhumane atrocities by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.
