VC Government College University Hyderabad Calls on IIUI President

Vice Chancellor of Government College University, Hyderabad, Dr. Amjad Ali Arain, met with President of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, at the university’s new campus.
During the meeting, Dr. Amjad Ali Arain highlighted his association with IIUI, noting that he had previously served as a faculty member at the university. He also shared a brief historical account of Government College University, Hyderabad, stating that the institution was originally established in 1917 and was later elevated to the status of a university. He emphasized its longstanding role in the educational landscape of the region.
The discussion focused on the advancement of education and the prospects for academic collaboration between the two institutions. Both sides explored potential areas of cooperation in research, faculty exchange, and curriculum development.
Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed presented the strategic plan of IIUI and outlined the university’s future directions and academic objectives. He shared insights into the institution’s priorities aimed at enhancing quality education and building academic linkages with national institutions.
The President IIUI also apprised about the expansion in the university over the last decade, including infrastructural developments such as the library, medical centre, faculty blocks, as well as outcome-based curriculum advancements, initiatives in nano science, business and technology space, and efforts on quality and research at IIUI.
The Vice Chancellor of Government College University Hyderabad expressed interest in sharing experiences and extending mutual cooperation through a memorandum of understanding that would include faculty and student exchange programs, which was agreed upon by the President IIUI.
