TREE PLANTATION DRIVE INAUGURATED AT IIUI

meMonsoon tree plantation drive commenced here at new campus of the international Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) which was inaugurated by the varsity Rector, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai on Monday.

As many as 1000 saplings of 27 species will be planted during this plantation drive. During the plantation drive, indigenous fruit trees, flowering trees, shade trees and medicinal plants will be planted.

Speaking on the occasion, the IIUI Rector said that trees are a great giftheee given to human by Allah Almighty. He added that trees play a pivotal role in protection of environment and it was fundamental duty of every citizen to plant trees.

Those who were present on the occasion included Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, Vice President of the university, Dr. Muhammad Sher, Dean Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Ibrar Shinwari Assistant Professor at the IIUI’s Department of Environmental Sciences and other officials of the university.
