TRAINING WORKSHOP ON ROAD SAFETY HELD AT IIUI

An awareness session and training workshop for the International Islamic University (IIU) drivers and conductors was arranged here at male campus by Central Transport Unit (CTU) of university in collaboration with National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Monday.

The workshop was aimed at raising awareness among drivers on Traffic Rules/ regulations/ road sense. The activity was joined by IIUI Vice President Dr. Muhammad Munir as Guest of Honour. It was also attended by SSP (NH&MP) Jamil Hashmi, DSP NH&MP  Ashiq Chohan, ASP NH&MP Mr. Rehan,  Director Administration Khalid Mehmood Raja, Additional Director Transport Asif Munir Babar,  Dr. Tariq Javed (Student Adviser), Assistant Director  CTU and coordinator of workshop Jehanzaib Waqas Gadgore.

Speaking in the ceremony SSP NH&MP Jamil Hashmi said that it was being mulled that heavy fines and strict actions be taken in the light of new policy for road safety .

He stressed that educational institutions and campaigns for road safety were successful action to have positive results. He maintained that heavy vehicle drivers must obey the regulations as they have the responsibility of dozens of passengers.

 Vice-President IIUI Dr. Muhammad Munir assured that university administration is committed to provide comfortable and safe transportation to its students, faculty and staff. He hailed the CTU of university saying that being the biggest transport section in twin cities; the IIUI transport officials were doing their job with best zeal and responsibility.
