12th Meeting of the Council of Islamic Research Institute (IRI), IIUI held under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in seminar room of IRI, on 24th January, 2019 at Faisal Masjid Camps of the University.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh, welcomed the honorable members of the Council and lauded the role of the council in recent years. President also appreciated the role of Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Director General, Islamic Research Institute (IRI), IIUI for successfully drafting the declaration issued by the President of Pakistan a national narrative which is about the challenge to stop terrorism and extremism and to present the true message of Islam by spreading pace, harmony and co-existence globally .
During the meeting the Council discussed recommendations for establishment of an International Center for Tolerance and Peaceful Co-Existence which is supported by Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Morocco, and up gradation of International Seerah Research Center at IIUI. The council also discussed holding of upcoming International conferences and seminars in near future.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Vice President (HS&R), IIUI, Prof. Dr. Sahibzada Sajid Ur Rehman, former President / Director General, Dawah Academy, IIUI, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ur Rehman from Bahaud Din Zakriya University, Multan, Dr. Wasima Shehzad from Air University, Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Director General, IRI, IIUI and Officials of Islamic Research Institute (IRI), IIUI.
