Thai Delegation Visits IIUI to Strengthen Educational Ties

A delegation from Thailand visited the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in the education sector.

During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening academic partnerships between IIUI and Thai institutions.

The delegation met with Vice President Academics/ A&F, Professor Dr. Abdur Raheman who highlighted the university’s profile, noting that 214 Thai students are currently enrolled at IIUI. Expressing a keen interest in expanding educational ties, he emphasized the potential for deeper cooperation.

Both sides deliberated on a roadmap to formalize collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership is expected to facilitate joint seminars, research initiatives, and exchange programs.

On the occasion, Dr. Manzoor Afridi, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at IIUI, provided a detailed briefing on the faculty’s various departments and academic programs, underscoring the university’s commitment to international cooperation in higher education. Ms. Madiha Akram, Deputy Director, Incharge Facilitation Centre was present on the occasion.

 

The visiting delegation included Mr. Paoyee Wasemen, Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy, and Dr. Yasmeen Sattar, Assistant Professor at Prince Songkla University, Thailand.

The visit marked a step forward in building stronger academic ties between IIUI and Thai educational institutions.
