STUDENTS FROM PARACHINAR AND SADDA, DISTRICT KURRAM BOYS COLLEGE VISIT IIUI

In connection with the Resilience Drive for the Youth of District Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KPK, a study tour from Govt. Degree Boys Colleges of Parachinar and Sadda, District Kurram, KPK visited International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) main campus on Tuesday. The 44 member delegation including students and teachers was led by Dr. Zafar Mahmood, Consultant UN for these areas. The Protocol & Public Relations Directorate arranged the visit for these students at the main campus.

The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad khan, Director (Academics), IIUI in the Council Hall of Administration Block where he briefed the students about the university academic programs and vision of the President of the university during a comprehensive presentation. On this occasion Mr. Nasir Farid, In-Charge, Protocol & Public Relation Directorate was also present during the briefing session.

In his briefing, Dr. Muhammad Khan shared the historic background of the university since its inception and elaborated the main objectives and goals of the university with students while, distinctive features of Islamic University in different fields and widely contributions in the field of education, research and generally for society and nation building were also shared by him on this occasion. He added that IIUI is one of the leading universities of the country which is producing highly qualified talented graduates duly integrated with the teachings of Islam.

Dr. Muhammad Khan appreciated the tour organizers for enabling the young men to provide an opportunity to get benefits of this study tour.  He added that this study tour will help young students in getting exposure in terms of knowing available career choices and any courses or programs they want to adopt in the future here at International Islamic University.

Later, student’s delegation visited the central library of the university where officials briefed them about different sections of the library and online access system of books during a detailed briefing. At male campus, in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, FET the delegation visited the Department of Civil Engineering where Dr. Rashid Farooq, Head of the Civil Department welcomed Students and introduced about available facilities for engineering students. Dr. Nauman from Civil Department briefed students about GeoTech, Transportation and Hydraulics and irrigations labs at Civil Department. The objective of the visit was to inform the students about the available facilities for students at university as well as to broaden the concept of higher education in higher education institutions.
