The Shari‘ah Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a one-day workshop on “Research Methodology in Islamic Law” for a delegation from The University of Faisalabad (TUF). The event aimed to strengthen research competencies and foster academic collaboration in Islamic legal studies.
A 22-member delegation from TUF, led by Prof. Dr. Sami ur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Law, participated in the workshop alongside faculty members and students. The interactive sessions were designed to enhance participants’ understanding of scholarly inquiry within the framework of Islamic law.
Renowned scholars delivered keynote lectures on vital themes including “Understanding the Enterprise of Research, Quality and Ethics in Islamic Research” and “Fundamentals of Legal Research.” The speakers included Dr. Safir Akhtar, Prof. Dr. Aziz ur Rehman (Director, School of Law, Quaid-i-Azam University), and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram (Director General, Shari‘ah Academy).
Dr. Sami ur Rahman expressed his gratitude to the Shari‘ah Academy leadership for hosting the insightful program and highlighted the importance of such academic initiatives. He also emphasized the potential for future collaborations, including joint research projects and faculty exchange programs.
The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony and the exchange of commemorative shields, symbolizing mutual respect and a commitment to institutional cooperation.
