SHARIAH ACADEMY HOLDS WORKSHOP ON “UPBRINGING AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN: AN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE “

H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has said that the university will launch post Doctorate program from the platform of Shariah Academy of the university.

He was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day workshop for female students titled “upbringing and cognitive development of children:an Islamic perspective” organized by Shari‘ah Academy of the university.
IIUI President said that university in the light of newly prepared strategic plan will be having educational collaborations with the universities of UK, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other countries. He added that the university has been put on new journey of progress and development.
Talking about the importance of women in Islamic society and Islamic teachings, he said that women rights are equally important in any society and they deserve special respect as Islam is staunch supporter of women rights.
H. E. Dr. Hathal said that Islam recognized role of women as entrepreneurs and intellectuals.
IIU President urged the female students to play role in progress of Muslim world.
He emphasized that universities must address issues of society and those must work as solution provider platforms.

On the occasion, DG shariah academy, Dr Farkhanda Zia said that women have potential of positivity changing the dynamics of their homes and communities.
Talking about the Dukhtran e Pakistan narrative, she said that it is a counter narrative to maintain peace and promote Inclusiveness in society. She said its training and implementation in society is imperative so that it may become part of policy. She said that the mother has part of a nucleus in upbringing and cognitive development of children and also urged that Islamic perspectives must be inculcated in minds of Female students.

In the program, the IIUI President also inaugurated the new website of shariah academy. Later, he also visited the renovated library of the academy where he was briefed about various sections. He was told that more than 15 thousand books are available in the renovated library, while a collection of court decisions from partition to till date.
In this two day workshop, experts, motivational speakers and academicians will speak on family psychology and children, self esteem among children, family disputes and women entrepreneurs.
