SHARIAH ACADEMY HOLDS COMPETITIONS OF PAINTING AND CALLIGRAPHY

Sharī‘ah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) conducted two separate competitions titled “Peaceful coexistence calligraphy competition” and “Nature and Harmony painting competition”.

The competitions were aimed to highlight the skills and capabilities of the students from twin cities.
Around 30 competitors participated in both events who were evaluated by a jury comprising of Mr. Jahangir Shah, Calligrapher of IRI, Mr. Zarar Haider Babri (The renowned artist) and Ms. Attia Abrar (HoD, Islamic Arts and Architecture), while the panel was chaired by Prof. Dr. Farkhanda Zia Mansoor, Director-General Sharī‘ah Academy.
The jury was impressed by the astonishing paintings created by the competitors and it did appreciate their work. Winning participant were awarded prizes. The jury after a long discussion over the performance of the competitors recommended that the paintings and calligraphy of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders may be placed on the walls of Sharī‘ah Academy.
The competitions ended with distribution of certificates between the participants.
