PAPERS
Developing countries face peculiar challenges in attaining progress on several important fronts related to societal well-being. An unsatisfactory progress may be associated with societal goals, the alignment between these goals and actors’ roles, and/or the environments in which goals and roles interact. Given that the ultimate aim of management discipline is to help achieve greater societal well-being, we seek to learn about the peculiarities related to all these aspects and the constraints they pose in aligning the role of actors with societal goals.
We believe that these challenges can be met through relevant knowledge which can be developed only through interdisciplinary discourse and engagement of major stakeholders in the national systems. Therefore, we are pleased to organize a multidisciplinary conference that seeks to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from all social science disciplines and fields to contribute their insights regarding the challenges of governance and management in the context of developing countries. Through this initiative we seek to generate knowledge that is useful for theory and practice of management in these contexts.
We invite empirical and theoretical research in the form of papers as well as posters that is relevant to the theme of the conference. We shall particularly welcome research related to following themes:
National systems (political, economic, industrial, social, etc.)
Knowledge and innovation
Transformational change
Social responsibility
