Regional Dawah Centre, Karachi (RDC), Dawah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized the 12th Islamic Training Program for Non-Governmental Organizations, NGOs. As many as 23 representatives of various charitable, social and dawah institutions from Sindh province participated in this program.
Justice (Rtd) Dr. Zafar Ahmad Khan Sharwani was the chief guest of inaugural ceremony of training program. During the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Zafar Ahmad said that this program is of significant importance for the training of welfare and social institutions in the society because a person’s life should be blended with the social welfare in the society which is a great purpose of life as a human being. He also said that social work should be done with passion, sincerity and dedication and one should try to do good work first from their neighborhood, street and city at large. He added that welfare work has the status of true worship while, welfare institutions should play the due role of reconciliation in the family problems, quarrels and conflicts of the people in the society by launching awareness programs which will promote tolerance and harmony, peace and tranquility in the society.
On this occasion, Dr. Syed Aziz ur Rehman, In-Charge of Regional Dawah Center (Sindh), Karachi, welcomed the participants in the training program and discussed the aims and objectives of the program. He said that this program is being organized in relation to the service of the people, in which different aspects of welfare work will be highlighted from the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ along with the teachings of Islam.
During the four days training program Mr. Munir Ahmed Rashid from IBER Karachi, Mr. Nisar Musa Baloch Youth Impact, Prof. Muhammad Saleem Mughal from Federal Urdu University Karachi, Dr. Umair Mahmood Siddiqui from Karachi University also participated as resource persons.
Earlier, during the ceremony course coordinator, Dr. Shahzad Chana introduced the program and highlighted the activities of Dawah Academy among the participants.
During the four days training program resource persons delivered comprehensive lectures on Quran an introduction, team management, the role of welfare institutions, leadership, social leadership, the concept of social work in Islam, the importance of communication in welfare institutions and welfare in Islam, time management. Participants of the training program also discussed on the positive role of social institutions in society.
Syed Zulfiqar Shah, member of the Sindh Human Rights Commission was Chief Guest of the concluding ceremony which was held at RDC Hall, Karachi of Dawah Academy, IIUI.
Addressing during the closing ceremony Syed Zulfiqar Shah lauded role of RDC, Karachi for arranging such beneficial training programs for people of the society and said that training the social workers of working in social institutions is of great importance and Dawah Academy has fulfilled its responsibility by carrying out this important work. He added that seven lac children are deprived of education in the country especially in Sindh province as there is a dire need to conduct awareness campaigns in this regard. He also said that this training workshop has covered all topics of welfare and social issues and Dawah Academy has provided a useful platform for the people in the society. He said that social workers should serve people with honesty, dedication, sincerity and hard work.
At the end, Chief Guest distributed certificates among the participants. During the closing ceremony Course participants were also presented sets of Dawah Academy’s publications and a translation of the Qur’an.
